FeedForward - Barefoot & Naked
|
| The Dutch metallers of FeedForward recently signed a deal with “Rusty Cage Records” and now “Barefoot & naked” is already available in the stores. That wasn’t so hard because the CD was released “do-it-yourself” by the band a year or so ago. There’s nothing changed regarding the sound as far as I know. Female singer “Biejanka” and her men play a kind of bombastic progressive rock with a 80s keyboard sound. The whole actually sounds quite good and musically the band has a lot in store. “FeedForward” throws a firework of melodies at the listener. “Run The Race” for example is a very catchy song that sticks with you immediately, even though “Job” exaggerates a bit with his keyboards in the beginning. The voice of “Biejanka” is really convincing, although so sounds a bit thin sometimes. But she has a lot of potential. This kind of music is not for everyday listening but the emotional “Crossing The Line” lends itself for closing your eyes and dreaming away. Also “Innocence” accompanied by piano really speaks to the mind. There are some experimental pieces to be found also that don’t do any harm to the sound. That the band has a heavy side also is proven by the songs “143” and “Before I Leave”. Those who like bombastic rock with a progressive edge should really listen to this album. Although not fully mature yet, “Barefoot & Naked” introduces a band full of craftmanship and a lot of potential. |
