FeedForward - Barefoot & Naked
|
| Already self-published last year, "Barefoot & Naked" now appears as a re-release of Rusty Cage and is thus available to a broader public. The debut of the dutch who are already obtained a large fanbase in their home country by gigs with bands like Epica and The Gathering, offers a mix of progressive rock and melodic metal, and is also no stranger to something like Lacuna Coil (like the song "Fade Away"). However FeedForward sounds more complex than many other female-fronted bands through its multi arrangements. Biejanka’s voice is distinctive and powerful as expected, and refines pearls as the beautiful "Innocence" even further - especially in conjunction with the piano the song is of the highlights of the disc. Unfortunately, the band sometimes get themselves in the way with its progressiveness, "143" quickly becomes a “play next” song with its oblique rhythms, particularly as the dutch also try a duet with a male voice, which is not really a success. A drowned and over-the-top sound is the result. Fortunately, such a mistake is the exception! Because as a whole the rest of the usually quiet material has fairly succeeded and invites to multiple spins repeatedly. "Barefoot & Naked" is not perfect, but knows to entertain and also offers some really beautiful songs. Get this! |
